Accident waiting to happen

Well today he told me how he was waiting to cross the street behind a parked car and he didn't realize the car was backing up. It "happened in slow motion" or it "all happened so fast" - he told me both ways. Missed him by a couple inches, I guess. He just doesn't process information fast enough and that worries me. But I can't make a big deal out of these little things at this point because he will deny there's any problem and hide things that happen and quit telling me. So I need to bide my time and keep my eyes open.
